This was the kind of light, educational drama and romance I needed right now. Saying that, this has too many clichés and I should warn you some of them are not going to sit well.

SYNOPSIS

A young American woman from the Midwest is hired by a marketing firm in Paris to provide them with an American perspective on things.

THOUGHTS

FRENCH & PARIS

I am teaching myself French, so as a beginner this was quite educational as well. I loved to witness the Parisians, the culture, the French language and the absurdities of learning it through Emily’s adventurous monologues. I feel this was good to see especially for someone that hasn’t visited Paris and really has that wanderlust to visit France someday. That person is me,

EMILY

I personally enjoyed Emily’s character, despite her being ignorant and her American arrogance showing. I love the idea of having an account dedicated to her life in Paris or per say documenting her life as someone who is trying to adapt to her new surroundings. It made it funny and educational at the same time.

THE STEREOTYPES

Although, this played out a lot of stereotypes which did not sit well with me. I personally did not like the idea of French being so mean and hostile towards foreigners. RATING : .3.5/5.0

Overall, I loved this. It’s only ten episodes of barely 30 minutes long, so it was a good series to watch during lunch breaks. I am probably going to end up watching the next season though, hopefully it doesn’t have too many stereotypes again. If you like Disney movies you’d probably like this one has it’s filled with the same kind of cringe worthy elements.
