The Knight Before Christmas| 2019

Countdown to this Holiday Season has already begun and I am hoping to watch as many Christmas Movies I can to keep up the holiday spirit going!

In other news, I am yet to catch up with my Christmas Shopping! Oh Well!

Meanwhile, Netflix is giving me Disney Vibes with Vanessa Hudgens starring in The Knight Before Christmas…( reminds me a lot of those High School Musical Movie Marathon Nights)

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

After a sorceress transports medieval knight Sir Cole (Josh Whitehouse) to present-day Ohio during the holiday season, he befriends Brooke (Vanessa Hudgens), a clever and kind science teacher who’s been disillusioned by love. Brooke helps Sir Cole navigate the modern world and tries to help him discover how to fulfill his mysterious one true quest – the only act that will return him home. But as he and Brooke grow closer, Sir Cole begins to wonder just how much he wants to return to his old life.

THOUGHTS

The premise of this movie is rather predictable and you already kinda know it’s one of those movies that will leave you feeling good. A lot of the emotional scenes reminds us of the true wonders of Christmas – love and respect for one another.

The aesthetics in this movie is just Christmas Goals! The Celebrations, the Decorations, Traditions and OMG The Cliche Moments!

There obviously is a magical element in this movie which is time travel. And it was amusing to see how a Knight from the 1300’s would react to the modern day world. Loved the terms he gave for hot chocolate or the car and other such modern day terms.

Sir Cole is the typical fairy tale character – The Knight in Shining Armor – only if his horse was white! 😛 The world could do a lot better with more of such chivalrous and kind knights from the 1300’s.

Apart from the fact that the plot is pretty mechanical and fairy tale -ish. I enjoyed this light hearted movie that brings with it the eternal holiday spirit I am always craving for.

  1. Great review! My daughter and I made a long list of Christmas movies to watch before Christmas and we’ve been plowing through them. I’ll have to add this to our list.
