Korean Dramas are usually based around super self righteous cops that want to do the right thing and usually they have to go against an entire corrupt system.. This Drama is no different but we have cops having one of their body parts replaced with an AI machine and now they have some kind of super power. So well, it’s not the same ๐
SYNOPSIS

Based off the webtoon of the same name, it’s the story of a police officer whose attempt to bring down a nationwide criminal organization ends up with him losing everything he holds dear.
Rugal is a organization found of human beings that have one of their organs replaced with AI technology organs and it helps them having an edge over other criminals.
THOUGHTS
The kind of technology this sow explores is quite impressive and would love to see happening in real life. Hopefully organized by the “good guys” obviously. This shows shows how terrible it could be if misused, and that is no less than a Zombie Apocalypse.

Avenger Cops

ย Kang Ki-Beom is the main protagonist of the story and has AI Eyes. Woah! That is some ultra level super power that was fun to witness. Hiks eyes were basically CCTV Camera with a brain of a computer. I am easily triggered when it comes to my eyes, so I can cant even fathom the horror I felt while watching the scenes of how he loses his eyes and the whole AI technology surgery stuff. Although, still a cool superpower to have ๐

I think she looked amazing. She was strong and determined and overall a pretty solid superwoman. She doesn’t have a particular super power per say, but sher is alive despite being shot in the head, all thanks to the doctors at Rugal. Song Mi-Na doesn’t have much of a back story compared to others , but she definitely packs a punch with her action scenes.

The Chocolate Boy. He was really lovable. Most of the “light moments” in the series are solely because of this character and he was super cute overall. Also his stomach is replaced with an AI technoology and it has to be recharged… So yeah, a battery operated human. ๐ I kind of like the concept quite true to the concept of living. Just that I need to be recharged with food ๐

Han Tae-Woong is the most serious character out of them and he has his reasons. I found his superpowers very similar to One Punch Man though or maybe Thor if Thor had a hammer for an arm instead. He is an ex-con now turned “cop” too and I loved his backstory the most.
Good vs Evil Trope
I also love the fail proof trope that was portrayed in this drama. I think because I have seen it so many times I knew there was nothing new that could surprise me. Also, what’s with villains never dying and secretly living to seek revenge. I hate that element the most.
RATING : 3.5/5.0
Overall, Rugal delivers on the action crime and fantasy aspects it claims to have. Not one for people who love romantic sub plots precisely. Although I totally love the friendships and bonding that these characters portrayed.
I would totally recommend this for teenagers more than adults. It has quite visible plot holes that I guess most adults would see through.. I mean, the optimism of if only that’s how the world worked reduces after you’re an adult according to me. ๐
