I am in this funk of watching movie trailers and getting hooked up with watching the entire movie and face palming myself for wasting my time. This movie is just an okay -ish movie, and made me want to not have kids. the Apocalypse does look real already and Kids are just going to be over the top annoying if they turn out anything like the kids in this movie. 😛
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A father has a recurring dream of losing his family. His nightmare turns into reality when the planet is invaded by a force bent on destruction. Fighting for their lives, he comes to realize an unknown strength to keep them safe from harm.
THOUGHTS
ANNOYING KIDS
This movie has such annoying kids that act stupid and don’t listen. It gets super annoying. I googled a few reviews online to see if I was the only one that got annoyed by that and to my surprise there were many people that disliked the kids. Ha, so I’m not some kid hater after all. :p I mean I am even okay with crying babies on the plane, but I don’t want to around a kid during the end of the world. I’ll go bat shit crazy if they act this stupid.
THE STORY
To be fair, the story is quite fresh, so it made me stick to the end. It gave me that “could have been better ” vibe.
THE PLOT TWIST
The only reason this movie worked for me to an extent was the brilliant plot twist, although a little too late for the movie to be a definite hit.
The whole Artificial Intelligence takes over the planet aspect was quite thought provoking and gets you wondering what would happen if things actually go that way. and yes, I was instantly reminded of I am Mother I had watched recently. Gave me the chills!

Overall, This movie is a one time watch and has an amazing concept and plot twist.
