This movie was an instant hit for me. I have come across such few acid attack stories and each one of them made me feel helpless and emotional. I read Being Reshma a few months ago, which is a true story and I did not think a fiction story would get to me the way that book did. But OMG, I was so wrong.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Pallavi is a strong-willed woman who has always aspired to become a pilot. How she gets back on her feet through sheer resilience after being beset by a series of personal crises forms the crux of the film.

TOXIC RELATIONSHIP
I did not know this was an acid attack movie. I did not read the synopsis , neither watched the trailer to it. I went blindly into it as it was suggested to me by my Dad that watches a ton of South Indian Movies. So I know it was going to be a good one.
Saying that, I had quickly picked up on the toxic relationship between her and the boyfriend way before the movie takes an ugly turn. Which made the whole acid attack even more brutal for me.
The boyfriend is such a moron. He is super dominating, and emotionally blackmails her, is not really concerned about her career and barely even bothers to consider her opinions.
It would be easy to say, well just leave him. Only if it was that easy wasn’t it? She does though and look what happened.
THE JUSTICE
She is not given justice right away. It’s been years she is taking rounds of the courts while he is not even in jail. It really makes you wonder about the legal system in such cases and how permanent the damage can be.There is this scene where she tells the lawyer, He might or might not be punished, I just have to live like this regardless. And that really hit me.
DETERMINATION
She is such an ambitious character though. And it shows. Despite what happened. She flies high!
I found the character to be so motivating and inspirational. Oh and that scene, when her Dad calls her to tell her the Court is going to announce the judgement for her case tomorrow. That was done so well!
It makes you realize how quickly her dreams were shattered with just one evil act of a person towards her. Despite it all, she doesn’t stop and is determined to achieve what she wants.

Overall, This movie is worth the watch. Acid Attacks are a growing problem in India and this makes you feel the pain of the victims.Highly Recommend.
