I usually save my Horror Movies to be watched when I am dead alone awake in the middle of the night and want to be freaked out even more. Even though I be scared to death after watching it and regret the decision right away. 😛
This one though is all things scary and creepy in broad daylight. 😛 For the sole reason of how it has so much potential to be a reality with all the technology advancements. I don’t know. My head’s still all fuzzy. 😛 This remake of Chucky is absolutely terrifying
I have heard mixed reviews though, people who have watched the Original do not enjoy this one as much and I went into this being quite skeptical and still liked it alot.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT

After moving to a new city, young Andy Barclay receives a special present from his mother — a seemingly innocent Buddi doll that becomes his best friend. When the doll suddenly takes on a life of its own, Andy unites with other neighborhood children to stop the sinister toy from wreaking bloody havoc.
THOUGHTS
I have been craving for more such technology misused stories ever since I have read “The Turn Of The Key by Ruth Ware” This movie has carried out that element so well. A Robotic Doll for a child can be a disaster if in the wrong hands in so many ways and still we already have kids having access to Amazon’s Alexa and what not. Not that it is bad, it just manages to make this movie that scary. I mean, when I am watching a Horror Movie or something really gore I would console myself saying it is just a movie, there are no super natural stuff in real though. But technology well, that is a whole different genre of terror. 😛 Just how the Movie I am Mother had given me the chills this too left me baffled.
I found the killing scenes absolutely horrifying and gives major night mare vibes. I was cringing with all the blood splatter in this movie. So watch out for the violence here – it is too damn graphic. I felt it had a lot of 90’s horror movie nostalgia going on with the doll, serial killing and the background music which was really good and on point.
Despite the horror, I found this too engaging and it maintained the suspense till the end. I loved the Detective and his Mom’s Character and was upset to see how things ended up for them. I liked how they show the Doll learning what Andy likes, and who he doesn’t and how he turns evil step by step. The way he kills is a replica of what he learns and sees which is a nice detail but too unsettling.
Rating: ★★★★
Overall, I totally recommend to watch this movie. Don’t look at it as remake and compare the Old Doll because I feel the story line deserves the attention more. It is perfect for the audience of this era . Also, I just have low expectation sfor remakes in general, so this movie blew me away.
