I needed this so bad! My heart is melted and in a giant puddle now. With the whole Covid- 19 global lock down and my entire schedule being disrupted for months to come. I know things could be worse – me or someone I know could be dead but it is too much stress and I needed a light romance story to cope.
SYNOPSIS

Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her—he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself.
Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.
THOUGHTS
FAMILY DYNAMICS
Even though this basically is a love story, I found the background story of each of their family dynamics extremely engaging. It holds true to how the Indian Immigrant Family is portrayed and the pressure on their kids to be equally Indian while growing up in a Western Country is on point

INDIAN REFERENCES
This has too many accurate Indian references which made me miss India more than ever. Even the romance was so Indian -ish. Haha! This gave me some serious nostalgia.
INSTA- LOVE TROPE
I am not some one that would like an Insta Love Trope. However, with the whole Arrange Marriage Setting , it seemed to fit perfectly and in fact made this book so funny and enjoyable to read. I was left giggling and laughing for most parts of the book.
“Hello, future wife,” he said, his voice bubbling with glee. “I can’t wait to get started on the rest of our lives!”
Sandhya Menon, When Dimple Met Rishi.
SOCIAL ISSUES
This one is fun and a great comfort read but it’s just not that. It has these subtle underlying themes in the background that makes the characters so well developed. Dimple is a girl whose parents want her married but wishes to focus on her career. Rishi religiously follows whatever his parents tell him to do up to an extent he isn’t even following his passion of being an Artist. We see both of them struggling to live a life that make them and their parents both happy.
“She wept for her hardheadedness, and for a world that couldn’t just let her be both, a woman in love and a woman with a career, without flares of guilt and self-doubt seeping in and wreaking havoc.”
Sandhya Menon, When Dimple Met Rishi.
INSOMNIA CON
The setting of this book takes place in a summer camp kind of ambiance and it was so much fun and engaging and I felt every part of the story has equal lime light through out the book. Loved Dimple’s Idea for the app so much. I wish I could see that happening in real. And I bet Rishi is a great Comic artist.
RATING : 4.75/5.0
Overall, this book gave me what I wanted. A cute love story and book to get to lost in. I had a smile on my face the whole time. Rishi is such a thoughtful and a super cute boyfriend and Dimple too. I love the whole romance so much. I am kicking myself for not picking this one soon enough.. Need to pick the next book in the series sooner!
