What is it about?
An intimate, powerful, and inspiring memoir by the former First Lady of the United States.
, Michelle Obama invites readers into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her—from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, to her time spent at the world’s most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it—in her own words and on her own terms. Warm, wise, and revelatory, Becoming is the deeply personal reckoning of a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations—and whose story inspires us to do the same.
Review
What an inspiring read. Michelle has made sure she humanizes herself and her family, and motivates us to be the conscious , fair, and kind human beings like Obama , herself and the people she has had the chance to have an encounter.
I have never been a fan of memoirs , biographies or non fiction in particular. But Michelle Obama has changed the game. I am already itching to pick another non fiction read. that seldom happens.. or lets say never
These days, it is a trend to write a memoir or an autobiography and while I encourage that since it enlightens us to more true, real stories and people. Becoming was one of the few memoirs I have truly been inspired by or learnt something from. One of those books that I could relate to, and still feel feel in awe of what a life she has led.
She exclusively has all the qualities I cherish and constantly try to improve. : Beauty, Kindness, Confidence, Intelligence, Empathy, Dignity and Grace.
I sure do recommend to read this book , and especially the Audio book in her own voice. It truly is an emotional read and there is something to learn for anyone for reads it.
