Review
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkin Reid has been one of the best read this year. It is so hard to review this book without giving away the charm of this story. I was failing to come to terms that this is a fictional band, and I can’t listen to their songs, and it was devastating to know about their fictional fall out. That is the true beauty of the story. The writing style makes it feel like a real story, especially because of the format being like an interview that tells an oral history of the band and the people in it.and that I guess is the best compliment to give to a story that is purely fictional.
It also opens a discussion to so many different topics like Drug use and addiction, The Rock Music scenes in 1970’s, Abortion and most importantly Love and Relationships.
Daisy Jones & The Six has the best love triangle trope I have ever read,so realistic and moving its devastating.
The characters are so intricate and complex, and have such distinct characteristics, especially the female characters. I am so glad Amazon is going to do a Book Adaptation and I so hope they do justice to the story. Also, damn excited for the music album.
I sure do recommend to read this book for the sole purpose of celebrating the Rock and Roll scenes in 1970’s. This book put me in a Rock Music hangover,, and I discovered Fleet wood Mac’s Album – Rumors, which I have been listening to on repeat ever since.
